About Conference   

The first RTIS Biennial International Conference titled “Cutting-Edge Trends in Translation and Interpreting Studies” will take place online at Allameh Tabataba’i University, Tehran, Iran on February 16-18, 2022. The conference aims to bring together the entire Translation Studies community from around the globe to share their research and to promote scientific interchange. It also offers a true interdisciplinary forum for scholars, researchers, practitioners, instructors, and students to present and discuss the latest innovations, trends, challenges, and concerns in the field of Translation Studies. Covering a wide range of original topics from entrepreneurship to translator’s ergonomics, this conference features workshops, presentations, and expert-led panels.

 

The Research Institute for Translation Studies (RITS) was formally established in 2008 at Allameh Tabataba’i University. The center leads research and provides translation services in a variety of languages including English, French, German, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, and Spanish. The RITS comprises four departments, namely Translation Teaching; Translation Technology and Media; Translation, Language, and Cultural Studies; and Translation and Editing Services. The faculty members of the institute are professors specializing in translation and Translation Studies from Allameh Tabataba’i University and other Iranian universities. The current director of the RITS, Dr. Fatemeh Parham, aims to arrange international conferences to expand the boundaries of research in Translation Studies.
